All We Need is High!
High rope courses built between trees or wooden or steel poles offer an exciting, energetic, and fun activity to its users on courses consisting of games of different heights and difficulty levels.
“Adventure park” that are recognized as high ropes course appears with names such as “challenge course“, “aerial adventure park“, “tree-top adventure park“, “team course” in the world literature. Although some of these names describe the same areas of activity, some of them point to areas that differ in terms of use and form. For example, the ropes course is divided into two main branches, the high ropes course, and the low ropes course. The distinction between the two is not easy to make by measurement. The use of personal protective equipment for safe use and the course where the lifeline will be mandatory is the high ropes courses, others are categorized as low ropes courses.
High rope courses are also divided into 2 sub-branches for educational and entertainment purposes. The education branch, on the other hand, can be examined under two subtitles as military and civilian. The establishment of the military courses is carried out according to the expertise of the unit to be trained. For example, by designing a parachute landing and landing from a helicopter for a special operations unit, a scenario can be prepared to increase the mobility of the unit with ammunition. Traditional rope course games are used in training courses for civilians; Crisis management, fast and correct decision-making, teamwork, and ice-breaking activities are performed for participants. Jacob’s Ladder, Cargo Net, Faith Jump, High Y, or Burma Bridge are some examples of games with popular and well-worn names around the world.
On the other hand, recreational high ropes courses – or more commonly known as adventure parks – stand out for their broad target audience and high popularity. For these recreational courses that can appeal to participants of almost all ages, sizes, and weights; There are no criteria regarding the athletic background, physical condition, and past experiences of the participants.
The main point that distinguishes adventure parks from traditional playgrounds is that the participants cannot have fun without moving. A child’s only standing position on a seesaw, swing, or slide is different, but it is possible for all of them to have fun routinely without moving. In the adventure park, the child can have fun by making decisions, moving, and most importantly, courage.
In addition to the individual contributions of the participants, adventure parks also have important contributions to the social scale. The fact that the family and the child, or 2-3 generations, can spend time together, side by side and simultaneously in the game is one of these. The number of recreational activities that can be carried out with the family is almost negligible. This situation brings adventure parks to the top of the list of activities where families can spend quality time together.
Adventure parks that force participants to act both physically and mentally have extremely high recreation value and it is one of the sectors whose popularity is predicted to increase day by day in the World.
How to Build an Adventure Park?
For the high ropes courses, lifeline and safety systems are mandatory in every game. This safety system; In accordance with EN 15567-1, it can be a steel wire rope lifeline, rail, or a safety net mounted under the game, at a level that users can reach. Considering the ease of use and operation of adventure parks, it can be said that the most common security system is the lifeline made of steel wire rope.
During the installation of adventure parks (ropes course) on trees in forested areas, no fasteners are mounted on the trees, compression and stretching methods are used. These methods must be applied in a way that does not prevent the water exchange between the roots and leaves of the tree. Incorrect applications can result in the weakening, drying, and falling of trees within a few years.
Safety is one of the most important issues to be considered in adventure park construction. We, as Extreme Works, make the delivery of every adventure park, where we carry out the projecting, manufacturing, installation, and assembly stages, with the conformity certificates obtained as a result of the audits of independent inspection bodies with international validity.

Who Can Use Adventure Parks?

Adventure Park Games
In adventure parks, users experience games based on strength, fun, balance, and courage. These games should be selected and ranked according to the target audience. For example, the succession of games that require power in a course prevents users from enjoying it and negatively affects the customer conversion speed. At this point, in order not to cause the adventure park to fail, the features and difficulty levels of the games to be placed on the courses should be carefully determined. With over 10 years of experience, Extreme Works serves to create the most suitable courses for the participants.
Extreme Works, with its catalog containing more than 60 different game options, helps its customers determine the most suitable ones for them before manufacturing. Tables visualizing which parts of the body each of the games with the theme of strength, balance, courage, and fun run and their difficulty levels are presented to the customer. The games selected from this list are implemented in the adventure park project.
